Niki Karimi to be honored at US museum

Iranian actor Niki Karimi to be honored at Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, USA.

Award-winning Iranian actor and director Niki Karimi is set to be honored at the Smithsonian Museum of Asian Art’s Arthur M. Sackler Gallery in the US capital of Washington, DC.

The event which is scheduled for February 18-19, 2019, will feature some of Niki Karimi’s films as both actor and director, followed by a Q&A session with the audience at the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery.

Niki Karimi began her filmmaking debut in 2001 with the documentary ‘To Have or Not to Have’, followed by feature films ‘One Night’, ‘A Few Days Later’, ‘Final Whistle’, and ‘Night Shift’, all of which have received awards on a national as well as international level.

Since her first cinematic appearance in 1989’s ‘Temptation’, Karimi has been a regular in Iranian cinema, appearing in movies also featured on ifilm such as ‘The Bride’, ‘Scent of Joseph’, ‘A Lunatic Fled the Cage’, ‘Music Box’, and the series ‘Kimia.

The famed actor and director has also appeared on the jury committee of international film festivals including the Berlin Film Festival as well as the Cannes Film Festival.
